AdBlue is required by all modern diesel cars, vans and heavier equipment. It's a fluid made up of urea and deionized water which squirts into the exhaust system and helps to reduce the nitrous oxide emissions produced by diesel engines. SCR (selective catalysitc reduction) neutralises the harmful exhaust gases that are harmful to the environment. Most diesel engines made after 2006 have SCR technology and therefore require AdBlue.
