Following the announcement of 23rd March 2020 from our PM, we have taken some additional measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members of staff and all of our customers.
We are here to support you, as always. However, when everybody has been told only to leave home for things that are absolutely necessary we do ask that you bear with us for anything non-urgent and help us to keep everybody going during this challenging time.
Our parts departments are currently available to support customer sales and workshop alike. For the wellbeing of all and to protect our ability to support you over the coming months we have taken the decision to close the doors of the department to customers and technicians, instead requesting that everybody who needs parts contacts the department by phone (numbers available here).
For non-urgent enquiries you’re welcome to email but for any collections we suggest calling and they will be able to tell you where and when you can safely collect goods from our premises without face-to-face contact.
We shall do our utmost to ensure that goods you receive have been handled safely, including the use of disposable gloves to pick parts and place them into a box for collection.
Where a cash sale is necessary, we will need to take card payment by phone prior to collection. Otherwise, parts invoices shall be booked to credit accounts.
Our service department remains operational with a condensed team of staff working remotely from their vans. If you need any assistance from the service department, please speak to the relevant service manager (contact numbers here) and arrange any repairs by phone. The service managers will be able to advise you of the procedures. Please do not come to the service office unless asked to do so, because the service managers will be working from home as much as possible.
Be assured that anybody who needs to visit your site will contact you by phone to notify of their arrival and will not make any physical contact with customers. We ask that you please respect this too and liaise with the technician by phone rather than in person. Machinery will be cleansed thoroughly after work has been carried out, for your safety. We do ask that if you have any potential symptoms of the virus please make us aware so that we can take extra precautions.
We appreciate that it will be an inconvenience to some people but we have taken the decision to temporarily close our groundcare department. We have not taken the decision lightly at all, but when there is a clear instruction to stay at home unless absolutely necessary we cannot justify bringing our groundcare team into an environment where they can potentially acquire or transmit the virus. We’re very sorry for whatever problems this causes but don’t think that the department falls under the same category as agriculture in terms of necessity.
Sales, Accounts and Admin
Our sales team are working remotely and can be contacted on their mobiles. Although our accounts and admin team are occasionally coming into the office as required they are primarily working from home, so please do not visit the office unless you have spoken to somebody and been asked to do so.
I hope that you understand why we are taking such drastic steps at this point. We are doing so to ensure that our team and their families are kept healthy and to enable them to keep you going through this highly unusual time and thereafter. We also take these steps to ensure that we as a Company are not contributing to the spread of this awful virus. We’re all in this together and only by adhering to the guidelines as much as possible can we get back to any sort of normality.
With best wishes from the team at Wilfred Scruton Ltd.
